Variety is the key in Classic Bike’s August issue. An orange Laverda Jota shines on the cover – it’s not a pampered piece of exotica, but a bike whose owner has enjoyed it for 42 years, putting over 100,000 miles on the clock in the process.
At the other end of the spectrum there’s a rare 1968 Dong Hai 750, made in China but rebuilt in Britain from boxes of bits by an Eastern Bloc bike lover. In between those extremes, there’s a test ride that explores the mystique of the Velocette Venom, a Honda CX500 buyer’s guide and a grin-inducing scrapbook of photos depicting oily characters from old-school bike breakers’ yards.
All this plus an event report from Dragstalgia, recent sports moped prices, magazine project updates and all the usual workshop insight. There’s a bit of something in it for everyone.
